The goals of Dene Nahjo are to support Indigenous
leadership in the north by:

Facilitating opportunities for Indigenous people to connect to land, language, culture and community.

Providing opportunities for education and action on social and ecological justice

Creating Indigenous-led spaces that feel safe and culturally-affirming for Indigenous peoples

  • We partner with communities and organization to support projects that align with our vision and goals;
  • We deliver inclusive programs (for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people), and programs for Indigenous peoples only;
  • We support actions and rallies for movements that align with our vision and goals;
  • We offer professional facilitation services for planning, strategic visioning and more;
  • We try our very best to center land, language and culture in our work and in our own lives.

We are an Indigenous Collective, not an Indigenous Nation or a representative government, and we have no legal authority over land. We cannot grant you land-use permissions. Our main office is located on the territory of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation.
